30 Days, 30 Drawings + a Party!

From Marisa:

I don't have to explain the importance of regular creating. I wrote a book about it :) and it also happens to be how I built my business. Since another priority this year is to focus on developing my art, I know that picking up a new daily practice is the perfect way start. There's nothing like the ideas that come when the momentum gets going.

A little backstory to this idea: Last year Outi and her friend Bob decided to do a daily drawing for a month, and text them to each other every day. She hung all the drawings at her housewarming party in October and it was magical seeing all of their different works together.

They decided to kick off the new year with another round of drawings and this time I'm joining them. At the end of 30 days, on Saturday, February 4th we're having an opening at the pARTy and exhibiting all of our drawings together!

And we invite you to join us! for the opening and! to draw with us for the next 30 days. Here's how to participate:

1) Remember this is for FUN {not extra stress or pressure}
2) Be willing to draw bad
3) Commit to creating a daily drawing, any size, any style, traditional on paper, or digital on your iPad (Over the holiday I became obsessed with drawing on the iPad...more to come)
4) Create just for you and/or share them with us via Instagram @thepartygallery with the hashtag #30days30drawingsParty or post them to our new Facebook Page for the Party Gallery!

Journal and Ornament Painting Workshop with Outi and Marisa

Our first painting workshop in the new studio! was so much fun. We're holding it a second time and adding ornaments to the mix. Choose a journal, an ornament or one of each!

Create a special gift for the holidays.

We hear all the time that people feel drawn to paint but it's too intimidating. When Outi has "canvas phobia" and Marisa puts "too much pressure" on herself while illustrating originals, they paint journals and ornaments.

Crafty, fun, experimental and as Outi calls it "a sneaky way to get into painting"

In this workshop you will be welcomed and supported by a creative community.  You will be inspired and have FUN while you learn to:

  • choose a plan or freedom or both!
  • expand your creative process and expression
  • explore with new painting techniques and tools
  • includes journal and/or ornament and all art supplies
  • bring any or all of the following, favorite paints, art paper, ephemera and imagery that inspires you
  • bring your creative self!
  • please contact us with any questions or requests
